The Random Little Things

This is a shirt I found at a TJMaxx during spring break. I instantly fell in love with this shirt the moment I saw it. The randomness of the design is what caught my eye the most. It is a collection of little icons that normally would not be put together, thrown on a shirt. Also, I really enjoy the cartoonish style of the icons and how colorful they are. The design is unique and quirky, which is the style of clothing/products that I tend to gravitate towards. Overall, I really enjoy the design of this shirt and I will definitely be keeping an eye out for more designs like this one.

This is a really interesting design. I think the randomness of the shirt that caught your eye is a design that can be used as a sales technique. Since the shirt is so different, it causes many people to take a second glance which could potentially lead to them purchasing the item. The picture of the shirt caught my eye as I was scrolling through different people’s posts.

Shirt stands out a lot, it’s very unusual. There’s definitely something charming about the print. Since it is art, someone could argue that the different symbols do go together. Visually they are chaotic, but due to their chaos they create their own meaning. Art is so interesting because you really can tell a story with anything! Anyone can interpret whatever they want from this shirt. While it may not be traditionally accepted as visually appealing, it certainly adds character.

Hi Kylee! This shirt would definitely make someone look twice at it just out of pure curiosity for what exactly each little design is. It absolutely catches your eye. My first thought when I saw this shirt was “This could have totally been worn in the 70s and 80s.” My mom always said – fashion always comes back around. After learning so much about art and graphic design throughout this course, I now believe that art and designs styles that were popular in previous centuries or decades, will eventually come back around!
