Earlier this month, I took a trip to NoDa in Charlotte, a street with fun shops and restaurants that is about fifteen minutes from UNC Charlotte’s campus. There were many different murals on the side of each building, but this was my favorite one. I love the different bright colors and the way the black and white photos contrast with them. I also like the way everything flows through the mural so nicely, the pink flowers and the rays of interchanging colors throughout the piece really catch the eye of the viewer and help to make it feel alive. While it isn’t perfectly symmetrical, there is a great deal of balance in this piece with a person on each side of the lotus flower being held up in the middle. Also, if you look closely, you can see that the word Charlotte is in big letters in the background.
