Kate Moross Nickelodeon
Attached below is the project that Kate Moross and her studio, Studio Moross designed. This was a logo design for Nickelodeon’s reboot of the show All That. They designed the branding, illustration toolkit and will also be joining the production of the show. I thought this design was so fun and cool because I grew up watching Nickelodeon and All That, so it seemed in a way I was “connected” to Studio Moross. I don’t think this was a “milestone” in Kate’s career, but I do think it was a huge project that got her a lot of exposure. With Nickelodeon being a platform of fun, bright and kid-friendly viewers, Kate had a big direction teaming up with them for their branding. From the looks of this design, it seems that most of this is hand-lettered/hand-drawn design which is right up Kate’s creative direction. It shows her personality of bright and unique, but also fun and kid-friendly! It does not say if this project was commissioned, but I assume it was because I saw that Kate also continued partnering with Nickelodeon for the creative direction of the Kid’s Choice Awards. From the looks of this design, I think Kate used digital design to make this happen. I think she hand drew these designs and then uploaded them into digital software to perfect them and make them more like cartoons. This is definitely an emerging practice, and one that Kate expressed that she self-taught.
