The Salvation Army Mural in England Thrift Store
One “Wild Design” art that I saw in 2015 that captured my attention was in The Salvation Army thrift store in Sheringham, England. At the back of the thrift store, where not many people could see it, was a beautiful mural of painted beach huts, beach chairs (with The Salvation Army logo on them), the two people in the beach chairs holding hands, and an airplane that left the words (as if it had come out of the airplane) “For God So Loved the World…” (John 3:16). I believe the store had had walls added to which made the mural harder for people to enjoy this work of art, but I decided to take a picture of it because I thought it was a gem and a beautiful design that shows creativity, flow between the words and airplane that still stay with the beach theme, engages the community, and captures The Salvation Army’s mission of sharing God’s love with others and helping others (through the many programs The Salvation Army offers). Therefore, you never now what beautiful artwork you will discover in a thrift store– although I sadly could not take this one home with me, so I took a picture.
