Tacitus

This typeface is Tacitus and Mark Jamra is the type designer. He is also a graphic designer and Associate Professor at Maine College of Art in Portland, Maine. He has designed and produced typefaces for close to 30 years. His lettering and typefaces have been shown in numerous exhibitions and have received awards from the Type Directors Club and the Association Typographique Internationale.

I chose this typeface because it is very clean, neat and simplistic which is how I would describe myself. It gives off the impression of perfection and I consider myself a perfectionist in everything I do. I am a very simple person, I don’t need much, and like to keep my surroundings neat and make sure everything is smooth sailing. The name of this typeface reminds me of the word tactic and that is a word I would use to describe my attitude towards things in the sense that I like having a plan for everything, so I’m not very spontaneous, and I don’t like to fall behind or be late. The font itself is very straightforward and slightly bold but not too much, much like my personality.
